Barclay, [Group Captain UK]

Group Captain Barclay came to see me this morning and stated that he was on the spot with the British Foreign Office because he had used their "emergency immediate" communications set up in order to get word to the Air Ministry and wondered if I would give him some support in his reply. I told him he could use my name and very firmly state that it was an emergency and that I had urged the quickest action possible to get an RAF night-intruder specialist out here to the Far East to assist the Commanding General, Fifth Air Force, in his night-intruder work.

Group Captain Barclay was very grateful and said he would use my name.
